''The man who builds a factory builds a temple -- the man who works there worships there''?
Can someone explain the quote. Thanks
The man who builds a factory builds a temple; the man who works
there worships there; & to each is due not scorn & blame but reverence &
praise.
-- Calvin Coolidge
That is the complete quote. It means , to me, '' Employers need
employees & employees need employers, Don't ascribe negative motives to those doing noble things''.. It also implies strongly that Coolidge approved of building factories If the question is ''What does the partial statement mean?'' It' is just the premises of the full statement
